  Why No Disfellowshipping Before 1952?

  why was there no official arrangement before 1952 to disfellowship people?

  was there a different procedure with a different name?

  was no one committing disfellowshipping offenses?

  Some more info from Barbara Anderson:

  " ..in the early 50s, Knorr put into operation the disfellowshipping arrangement in a way that was not known previously. It was because of a sexual scandal that involved Bethelites. There is a Kingdom Hall, the Brooklyn Heights Congregation, in the 107 Columbia Heights building, which building houses hundreds of Bethelites. Neighborhood Jehovah's Witnesses attend meetings at the Brooklyn Heights Congregation as well as many Bethelites. In and around 1953 or '54 (and I've forgotten the exact date, which my husband knows, but he's not home for me to ask), a number of young Bethelites who were assigned to the Brooklyn Heights Congregation were engaged in wife-swapping with couples who were not Bethelites, but who lived in the area. When the fat hit the fan, so to speak, Knorr was furious. That's when he used DISFELLOWSHIPPING and cleaned house."

  The 2 witness rule

  i've just been informed by a jw apologist that regarding the 2 witness rule in cases of child abuse, the child himself counts as 1 of the witnesses.

  he also stated that if 2 children complain about abuse seperately, the 2 children then count as 2 witnesses.. any thoughts please?.

  Aren't Watchtower literature trolleys and stands illegal?

  in many places it is illegal to set up a stand and sell things in public without council approval.

  so why is it that jws can set up their trolleys in busy public areas without being asked to move on?

  i saw this article this morning about muslims being asked to stop handing out leaflets in parramatta, because it is illegal.
